There’s top quality football all across Europe this Friday.  In France, the reigning Ligue 1 champions Lille take on the favourites PSG at the Parc des Princes. In Germany, Hoffenheim travel to Hertha Berlin in a midtable Bundesliga clash while in England there’s a feisty clash between QPR and Nottingham Forest. There’s also a full slate of games in the League of Ireland Premier Division and the Dutch Eerste Divisie, as well as plenty of action from Spain, Portugal, Belgium and beyond. We cannot wait to watch, and bet on, these games live on Friday night and look forward to seeing you there.

We Bet – You Win

To celebrate the growing success of our BetAlong stream we have added a new section called we bet – you win. Each week we will put €10 on the Live Action Acca and if the bet wins we will give the money to one of the most engaged viewers of our livestream, either on Youtube, Facebook or Twitter.

KV Oostende vs Mechelen    09 Oct 19:45 BST – LB

This game might not catch the eye of anyone who isn’t a Belgian FDA enthusiast but it has the potential to be a humdinger. Oostende are comfortably mid-table without being all that impressive.  After winning three of their first four games things have tapered off slightly for De Kustboys who have won just two of their last eight league games (W2 D2 L4). More than half of their total points so far (9 of 17) have come against the bottom three sides of the division and they are yet to beat a team above them in the league.

Mechelen had an awful start to the league. After an opening day win they managed to pick up just four points from their next six games (W1 D1 L4). Fortunately for De Kakkers they have not lost since and are not 5th in the table, and only Union Saint-Gilloise have more wins. They are top of the form table (W4 D1 L0) and will be full of confidence going into Friday’s game.

An away win is generously priced at 8/5 and that is my bet for the acca. I do like this game for goals but the odds are just too low. Over 2.5 goals is priced at just 1/2, and considering six of the last seven meetings between these teams failed to reach that mark I’m happy to pass. I do expect both teams to score on Friday but odds of 2/5 for BBTS do not tempt. I expect an exciting away win but the betting value is on the straight result.

QPR vs Nottingham Forest    09 Oct 19:45 BST – Gaz

This match has the look of a classic and if I wasn’t streaming with the SportsRunDown lads, I’d be at Loftus Road. Both sides come into the game off the back of disappointing defeats. QPR took the lead last weekend on the road versus Peterborough, but ended up coming away pointless thanks to a last minute Siriki Dembele goal. Forest lost heavily (0-4) at home to Fulham, the first of the Steve Cooper era. With the two teams looking evenly matched, and as both are looking to bounce back, it’s best to leave the win market alone.

Goals look to be the order of the day in my opinion. QPR have scored in every game they’ve played this season (18 matches in all competitions). Eleven of those eighteen fixtures have contained more than two goals, with a further five seeing two goals scored.  The Tricky Trees have a similar record on the goals front. Eleven of their fourteen games this season have contained over two goals, including all of their last five. Given those stats there looks to be value in backing over 2.5 goals at 10/11.

Hoffenheim vs Hertha Berlin   09 Oct 19:30 BST – Slatts

At an initial glance this Bundesliga encounter looks tricky to call, with 11th place Hoffenheim hosting Hertha in 10th spot, and both teams with some decent, if patchy, recent form. A score draw was my initial feeling here, given the goals looks a certainty, however on further inspection I’m leaning towards a home victory.

Hoffenheim have won 3 of their last 6 games (W3 D1 L2), however all three wins came at home and somewhat emphatically with 3-1, 5-0 and 5-1 score lines. They have only lost once in their last ten home games in all competitions (W7 D2 L1) and it would seem foolish to bet against this trend. While their most recent victory was a cup game against 2nd tier Holstein Kiel, the previous two wins came against teams currently above them in the Bundesliga – Cologne and Wolfsburg.

Hertha’s last 6 league games show even better form (W4 D0 L2), however the key difference here is that all 4 victories came against teams at the bottom end of the table. Two of these victories were on the road, however their additional 3 away games this season have been heavy defeats, and all things considered they may struggle here against a Hoffenheim side with a solid home record and scoring freely of late.

With both sides’ league games averaging just over 3.5 goals, as well as 5 of their last 6 head-to-head meetings having 3+ goals scored, it’s worth including this angle in the bet. The pick for this game is a Hoffenheim win with over 2.5 match goals, available at 13/10.

SRD Selections:

KV Oostende v Mechelen – Mechelen to win @ 8/5

QPR v Nottingham Forest – Over 2.5 goals @ 10/11

Hoffenheim v Hertha Berlin – Hoffenheim To Win & Over 2.5 Goals @ 13/10

The above games in a treble pays @ 10.41/1 (Bet365)

Remember, we’ll put €10 on this treble and one of our most engaged viewers during our live stream will win the €114 if the bet lands!
