The Live Action Acca: A Perfect Storm For Another Betalong Winner
After a successful 15/1 winner last week, we once again put our best bets for Friday night football together and see if we can get the weekend off to a flier.
Last week on our Friday Football YouTube Betalong we bagged a 15/1 accumulator, published here on our site in advance. This week we have a slightly more conservative 10/1 treble on offer, where we can hopefully land another payday.
KV Mechelen v Standard Liege Fri 01 Oct 19:45 BST – LB
First up we head to Belgium for the First Division A clash between Mechelen and Standard Liege. There isn’t a whole lot separating these sides. Both have 13 points from 9 games, with 4 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats a piece. These sides finished with only 2 points between them last season and the odds reflect that. The game is priced at 11/8, 11/4 and 17/10 for home win, draw and away win respectively.
The stand-out bet for this game is no doubt Mechelen’s form striker Nikola Storm. The Belgian stalwart has played between the FDA and FDB for the guts of a decade, but in the last 12 months or so he has really blossomed into a potent goal scorer. At the tail end of last season, Storm scored 8 goals in 6 games before picking up an injury in the play-offs. Proving this was not just a blip, the 27-year-old attacker opened his account this season with 6 goals, scoring in each of Mechelen’s last 5 games.
Standard have conceded 14 goals in 9 games so far this term and are sloppy at the back. Storm scored last May when these two met in the play-offs, before picking up that injury early in the second leg. Given his form, playing in front of a home crowd, and the opposition’s slack defense, 7/4 for Nikola Storm to score any time looks like great value.
Stoke v West Bromwich Albion Fri 01 Oct 19:45 BST – Gaz
West Brom (1st) visit Stoke (5th) in what looks like a cracking tie. The Baggies featured in Gaz’s EFL midweek treble and got the job done with aplomb, beating Cardiff by 4 goals to nil. Back-to-back wins in 5 days has gotten Albion’s title challenge back on track, after 3 consecutive draws had threatened to derail it.
Stoke are having a great season and certainly won’t be pushovers. They are unbeaten at the Bet365 Stadium, and will be roared on by a raucous crowd. While their start to the season has been impressive, I am not convinced they are on the same level as West Brom. They have only faced one of the big three so far in Fulham, and were convincingly beaten 3-1.
While Stoke are sure to put up a good fight, this looks like an away win at a juicy price (11/8). I’ll also be having a small punt on West Brom & Over 1.5 Goals at 15/8, given the Baggies attacking threat.
NAC Breda v Excelsior Fri 01 Oct 19:00 BST – Slatts
The last two weeks I’ve gone with goals in Almere City games, which paid off on both occasions. Their trip to Volendam looks likely to yield more goals from both sides once again, but I don’t want to push my luck so I’m going to give Almere a break.
An equally appealing option is the game between Breda (18th) and Excelsior (1st). Despite the table positions, it is the hosts who come into this game as favourites, at odds of 5/4 for the win. Excelsior can be backed at 19/10, which is initially tempting based on form, however it’s still a little early in the season to read too much into table positions.
What seems a certainty here, though, is goals. The last 5 meetings between these two had over 2.5 goals, and 4 of those games saw both teams scoring. Despite only one home win in three games this season, NAC have scored 6 goals across those games, and have scored in 13 of their last 14 home ties. Excelsior, meanwhile, have scored 10 goals in their 4 away games this campaign, and have scored in 10 straight away league games, 9 of which have seen both sides scoring.
All the stats point to plenty of goals in this one, and in all likelihood both sides will get on the scoresheet here. While odds on, there is value in both teams to score with over 2.5 match goals at 8/11.
Mechelen v Standard Liege – Nikola Storm To Score Any Time @ 7/4
Stoke v West Brom – West Brom To Win @ 11/8
NAV Breda v Excelsior – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals @ 8/11
The above treble is available with Bet365 at a little over 10/1
