Thanksgiving Bet Builder: Bills To Overpower Saints
The Bills expect to rebound against the Saints to get back on track in the hunt for the AFC East
The New Orleans Saints (5-5) host Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills (6-4) in the final game of the 2021 NFL Thanksgiving schedule. This is a key Week 12 game between two teams in the thick of the playoff races.
Both teams are coming off difficult losses where their respective defenses were hit hard by explosive offenses.
The Bills are favoured by 6.5 points.
Sean Payton faces a dilemma over who to insert in the offensive line. Starting right tackle Ryan Ramczyk (knee) will not play and left tackle Terron Armstead (knee/shoulder) is questionable. This is in addition to fellow linemen Andrus Peat and Ethan Greenidge currently being on injured reserve.
New Orleans also will take the field with a depleted running back corps. Leading rusher Alvin Kamara will miss his third straight game with a knee injury. Mark Ingram returned to the Saints but he’s not the long term answer to play each game down by down.
The main talking point going into this game is whether or not the Bills will be able to get anything going on the ground. They have exceeded 120 rushing yards in five of their six victories. They scored at least one rushing touchdown in every win but the lack of a consistent run game is a great cause for concern. Unless they can become more consistent questions will remain around their Superbowl aspirations. Recently teams have started to load up on cover on receivers and Josh Allen has struggled to get players open down field.
They are also going up against the number one run defense in the league. The Saints do have their own frailties, as we saw last week in Philadelphia, but this will be a tough ask for the Bills run game.
I’m going with Josh Allen and Stefan Diggs to fire the Bills to a comfortable win.
Josh Allen over 278.5
Stefan Diggs anytime TD
