Beano’s Bet Builder: Rams To Compound Niners Defensive Woes

Rams to rebound off last weeks defeat?

This NFL showdown is an NFC West clash with a number of storylines to contend with. The past few days have focused around the Rams signing of Odell Beckham; a luxury signing which quickly became a necessity with the season ending injury to Robert Woods. We also have 2 teams coming off difficult home defeats, who will look to rebound and take advantage of weekend defeats for their divisional rivals Cardinals and Seahawks.

The Los Angeles Rams boast a 7-2 record and have looked like Super Bowl contenders this season. As highlighted, the Rams lost to the Titans last weekend with QB Matthew Stafford looking very shaky throughout the game, probably for the first time this season.

Odell Beckham Jr is set to make his debut, albeit likely in a limited role, but Rams still bolster other key players who can take advantage of a leaky 49ers defense. Henderson and Kupp will be expecting big games in both the rushing and passing game.

The 49ers had a great chance to turn their season around against an Arizona team missing QB Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins last week, but folded tamely. After a number of early drives where scores looked likely, the Niners failed to convert, ending with fumbles at critical times.

San Francisco’s secondary is extremely poor and, while they have been unlucky with injuries this season, that won’t help them against the Rams. The 49ers have also now lost starting right tackle Mike McGlinchey for the season, which is a huge loss. Von Miller is also expected to make his debut playing alongside Aaron Donald, which should lead to a difficult night for Jimmy Garoppolo.

The hosts have lost 11 of their last 12 home games and have an overall 23-34 record at Levi’s Stadium. With that in mind, I will take the Rams to cover the handicap, Henderson to find the endzone, along with the over taken on Stafford’s passing yards, in a rebound performance.
