Champions League Tips: 29/1 Shots On Target Acca
LB likes a few outsiders to hit the target in the Champions League with Man City, Man United and Liverpool all featuring.
Midweek shots have been a fairly profitable market for me this year and the return of the Champions League offers some great betting value.
Atletico Madrid vs Liverpool Tue 19 Oct 20:00 BST
Klopp’s men looked lethal up-front in the demolition of Watford at the weekend but they are not the same defensive unit as two years ago. Their opponent’s have managed to fire off 40 shots against Liverpool over the last four league games, which is alarming considering that Brentford (11), Crystal Palace (11) and Watford (7) account for 29 of those. Angel Correa is in great form for Atleti and has managed two or more more shots from midfield in all bar two games this season. He’s 8/11 to get one on target here and looks a great bet for our acca.
Paris St-Germain vs RB Leipzig Tue 19 Oct 20:00 BST
The “French Champions” got their European campaign back on track after beating Man City last time out but it’s safe to say they are not yet at full speed. Our own Ligue 1 expert Dermo has pointed out some of their flaws this season and as we’ve seen on our weekly BetAlong they are vulnerable to teams that like to “have a go”. RB Leipzig are the sort of high paced team that can cause anyone problems and despite losing most of their games so far they have managed to score in 9 of their last 10 outings. They put one past Bayern Munich and three past Man City and I’m sure they’ll cause PSG some problems. As tempted as I am by Konrad Laimer to get 1+ SOT at 6/4 from the right side of midfield, I think Christopher Nkunku is the better bet at 7/2 for 2+ SOT.
Club Brugge vs Man City Tue 19 Oct 20:00 BST
Man City never look as good in Europe as they do domestically and there is a chance the Belgians catch them sleeping here. Will that be enough for Brugge to get something from the game? Almost certainly not, but I do think they will score. There is no doubt that City will dominate possession in this game but with 10 of their players priced at 4/6 or less to hit the target there is no betting value. Hans Vanaken is flying beneath the radar for Club and he looks a great bet at 11/10 for 1+ SOT. Centre back N’Soki loves to get forward for set pieces and is 11/1 for a single shot on target.
Man United vs Atalanta Wed 20 Oct 20:00 BST
I could basically copy and paste my preview of United’s game against Villarreal here. Solskjaer’s side remain painfully open and opposition midfielders tend to find a lot of space in front of the box. With no less than 13 players priced at 1/2 or lower to hit the target in this game I’m more than happy to look down the market a bit and Davide Zappacosta looks the best bet to me. The Italian is averaging two shots per game and has already had six in two Champions League appearances so far this term. At a price of 4/5 for 1+ SOT he looks a great bet.
Zappacosta 1+ SOT @ 4/5
Correa 1+ SOT @ 8/11
Christopher Nkunku 2+ SOT @ 7/2
Hans Vanaken 1+ SOT @ 11/10
The above in a fourfold @29/1
A 2+ SOT Trixie of Zappacosta (4/1), Correa (4/1) and Vanaken (6/1) 0.25U
N’Soki 1+ SOT @ 11/1
